The "Kriti Sea" ran aground in the Çanakkale Strait due to some kind of technical malfunction in the morning of July 18, 2017. The ship got stuck off the cape of Nara. It had sailed from Marsaxlokk on July 2 and was bound for Batumi, ETA July 20, and was transiting the Dardanelles. The captain did not request assistance, however, the tug "Kurtarma 4" (IMO: 9335941) and the lifeboat "Kiyi Emniyeti 9" (MMSI: 271010037) were deployed to the unloaded tanker which had dropped anchor. On July 19 the tanker was still stuck, and the lifeboat "Kiyi Emniyeti 9" was now joined by the tugs "Kurtarma 1“ (IMO-No.: 9598581) and „Kurtarma 9“ (IMO-No.: 9598581). In the foremidday the ship started moving again, escorted by the "Kurtarma 4", headed to Sevketine, ETA 2 p.m. She has left the area by July 29 and was now bound to Limassol, ETA July 31, 3 a.m. Turkish reports with photos and video: http://www.denizhaber.com/asayis/mt-kriti-sea-adli-tanker-canakkale-bogazinda-karaya-oturdu-h70357.html http://www.virahaber.com/mt-kriti-sea-isimli-tanker-canakkale-bogazinda-karaya-oturdu-44995h.htm http://www.gettyimages.de/detail/video/greek-flagged-vessel-kriti-sea-is-seen-ran-nachrichtenfilmmaterial/818406578 http://denizhaber.tv/v/ONTIDMCzuEg
