Sailors home after captivity

17 Indian sailors shared an emotional homecoming after having been aboard the hijacked "Savina Caylyn". In the morning of Jan 10, 2012, 13 crew members landed in Mumbai, while the remaining four flew to their respective cities.

Freed tanker enroute Dubai

The 22 crew on board the "Savina Caylyn", released by Somalian pirates is expected to reach Dubai on January 7 2012,. The tanker, carrying crude oil was on its way to Singapore from Malaysia when it was hijacked by the pirates on February eight 2011 at Sokkotra island, for a ransom amount. The "Savina Caylyn" with five Italians and 17 Indians on board, was freed on December 21 after more than 10 months in captivity. The tanker, guarded by Italian Navy has already embarked on its journey to Dubai on Dec 26.

Somalian pirates have released the "Savina Caylin" and its crew of 17 Indians and five Italians on Dec 21, 2011, after a ransom was paid which was according to the hijackers around 8,8 million Euro. The ship had been held since 8th February when it was pirated off Socotra.
