Engine failure near Chateauquay
The "Carolus Magnus" suffered an engine failure causing a partial loss of main engine power, in pos. 45 20 12.8 N 073 53 49.2 W on April 26, 2019, at 8 p.m. in the St. Lawrence Seaway off Chateauguay, Quebec. The vessel continued at reduced speed to the Pointe Fortier anchorage off Beauharnois for repairs. The crew carried out repairs and the vessel resumed its voyage from Montreal to Hamilton where it arrived on April 28 at 7.40 a.m.
Tanker saved 103 migrants
In the foremidday of Nov 5, 2014, the "MCT Breithorn" saved 103 migrants from a crowded raft in the Mediterranean. The Italian authorities had requested the tanker to assist in the late foremidday. The ship was underway from Tripolis to Trapani. The male migrants were recovered safely. They were to be landed at Trapani on Nov 6.
