Catamaran ferry used for fire fighting

After the police received a notification bouat a fire on a boat in the Brufjord on May 15, 2013, at 12.17 a.m., the Flora fire brigade came out on board the "Øyservice" and found the casualty in Stavfjord. It turned out to be the 50-foot fishing boat "Vestervåg" with three persons on board which was on fire. The tanker "Bergen Star" which was heading south when they received notification of the fire between Askrova and Svanøy turned around and returned to the casualty. The tanker was headed to Mongstad. At 1 p.m. the fire department went on board with smoke divers. There were no visible flames. The fire must have started in the engine. At 1.30 p.m. the fire department reported that they controlled the fire in the engine room. The boat was towed to Florø.
