The Greenland flagged super trawler "Markus" (MMSI-No.: 331184000) on Oct 22 2011, dragged the "Ocean Tiger" safely into the port in Sisimiut after the ship had suffered damage to the turbocharger of its main engine while fishing north of Upernavik. After the accident, there was large smoke development in the engine room, and fire alarms started. The ship's power supply stopped along with the main engine and the ship was dead. The crew from the Faeroe Islands, Greenland and Denmark was safe. First it was planned to be taken in tow by a navy ship, which lay in Aasiaat area, but as the vessel was not immediate danger, the "Markus", owned by Qajaq Trawl A / S in Nuuk, which was not far from the position, was hired. The tow took 42.5 hours. The total cost of damage was estimated to be between 1.5 and 2 million Danish crowns. Norwegian report with photo: http://sermitsiaq.ag/node/110381
