Survey vessel "Ocean Star" finds wreckage of RAF Tornados on seabed
The wreckage of the two Tornado GR4 jets that crashed over the Moray Firth has been located on the seabed. The Ministry of Defence said a three-mile maritime exclusion zone was in place around the site in the firth, about 25 miles south of Wick. The wreckage of the RAF Lossiemouth-based aircraft – which collided on Tuesday, killing three men and leaving a fourth critically ill in hospital – is believed to be lying at a depth of between 130ft and 200ft. Survey vessel Ocean Star took the imagery that identified the location. Merchant vessel Smit Yare is also at the scene. Source: http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/2842303
