Allision in cyclone

Wed Mar 09 12:51:49 CET 2022 Timsen

The 'Frojdi II' allided with the dredger 'Drina' (MMSI: 279202354) and the survey boat 'Vega Shipyard' in Durres, which both were berthed in the southern part of the port basin, during the manoeuvres to exit on March 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. LT. The cause of the incident was the sudden change of wind direction with increased speed in the form of a cyclone, which pushed the vessel to the other side of the basin. Investigations were launched by the authorities and relevant parties. No damages were reported to the 'Frojdi II', and the vessel resumed the voyage to Chalkis with an ETA as of March 11. The berthed ships reportedly suffered damages.
