Engine failure off Piraeus

The 'Lucky Sea' with 23 crew members on board suffered an engine failure, in position 37 52 51 N, 023 33 19 E, about 2,8 nauical miles from Piraeus anchorage in the morning of March 17, 2022. Subsequently, the vessel's departure permission was temporarily cancelled by local port authority. The vessel moored at Piraeus anchorage until repairs were completed and inspections carried out by the monitoring classification society. On March 18 it was headed to Port Said with an ETA as of March 20.

Detained Star Cosmo released after water pollution

Authorities of Garrucha, Spain, released m/v Star Cosmo after owners deposited 340,000 euro. Vessel was spotted by plane on May 8 as a suspect in pollution in Spain waters, Maritime Bulletin reports. On July 13 vessel docked in Garrucho, where she was detained. Proceedings under way.
