In port @ Summerside PEI, Canada
The Ocean Endeavour is the first cruise ship to visit Summerside PEI in five years. Departing later today for Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
Cruise ship suffered ice damage
The "Ocean Endeavour" sustained damage from ice near the South Shetland Islands on Nov 15, 2015, at 3:30 a.m. Nov 15. The vessel was carrying 167 passengers from 24 countries, all of them remained safely onboard. On Nov 17 they were disembarked in Ushuaia as scheduled. While the ship master performed temporary repairs to ensure the vessel's safe passage north, the cruise ship will need to undergo repairs and a Maritime Authority inspection so that the ship's next sailing had to be cancelled. Passengers booked on the sailing were given a full refund, and the company will also cover flight costs not reimbursed by travel insurance, up to $500 per person.
Former Cruiseship Kristina Katarina with new job
A new employment has the MS OCEAN ENDEAVOUR, not as a cruiseship but as a floating accommodation for workers of the Shetland Gas Plant (SGP). She has left Las Palmas last weekend and sails to Lerwick. PETROFAC chartered the ship for six months. She will be moored during their charter at the Victoria Pier, Lerwick.
