Fishing vessel towed to Santurce
The 'Nuevo Cielo Azul' suffered an engine breakdown while fishing in the Bay of Biscay in vicinity 44 03 36.0N, 002 23 24.0W, on Aug 4, 2021. The crew requested assistance, and the Spanish SAR vessel 'Salvamar Alcyone' took the ship in tow to the port of Santurce near Bilbao, where it was safely berthed at 6 p.m.
Trawler towed to Bermeo
The 'Nuevo Cielo Azul', with eight crew members on board, experienced cooling problems of the main engine approximately 50 miles North-Northeast of Bermeo, in the French SAR zone and requested assistance. Salvamento Marítimo was informed and accordingly mobilized the SAR boat 'Salvamar Monte Gorbea' (MMSI:224057340) from the station in Bermeo.
