Allision in Durres
The cargo m/v 'Kaptan Hilmi III' (IMO: 8715390) allided with the stern of the 'NS Explorer' during the docking maneuvers at berth No. 1 of the MBM Port in Durres on Oct 10, 2022, at around 09.45 a.m. The berthed ship suffered a few steel damages at the stern, which, however, did not obstruct the seaworthiness. The vessel was not detained and sailed from the port in the afternoon, headed towards the anchorage of Durres port where it will stay until the morning hours of Oct 11 in attendance of owner instructions. The 'Kaptan Hilmi III' remained undamaged and started discharging operations.
Patrol boat seized vessel off Libya
The 'NS Explorer', en route from Damietta to Gabes was seized and detained by a patrol boat of the Libyan National Army (LNA) in position 33 09 45N, 022 10 00E, about 15 nautical miles north of Ras el Hilal on June 29, 2021, around 11 a.m. It has been detained for breaching the LNA 'No Sail Zone' and was escorted to the Ras el Hilal anchorage for administrative procedures, where it moored at 1 p.m. As of July 2, the ship was underway again with an ETA as of July 4.
Technical failure in Sousse
The "NS Explorer" suffered a technical failure of the emergency support system at Sousse on Nov 4, 2018. The departure permission was cancelled by the Port Master until the completion of permanent repairs. Repairs were being carried out by crew and the vessel remained stationary at Sousse on Nov 5.
