Wed Jul 29 10:03:40 CEST 2015 Timsen

A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew medevaced an injured mariner from the "Northern Victor" in Beaver Inlet, near Dutch Harbor, on July 28, 2015. The Dolphin helicopter crew launched from Cold Bay, where they were staged overnight for a different case, and safely hoisted the injured man for transport to emergency medical services in Dutch Harbor. The crew of the fish-processing vessel notified the Coast Guard 17th District command center of the injured crewmember, reportedly suffering from a swollen leg, in the morning. After transporting the injured man to Dutch Harbor, commercial services arranged a flight out of Dutch Harbor to a higher level of medical care.

Medevac in Beaver Inlet

Tue Mar 03 10:44:41 CET 2015 Timsen

A Coast Guard Air Station MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew medevaced an ailing mariner from the "Northern Victor" in Beaver Inlet, approximately 13 miles southeast of Dutch Harbor on Mar 1, 21015. The CG cutter "Munro", moored in Dutch Harbor, received the request for a medevac from the "Northern Victor" via radio. The helicopter crew was on deck at the community’s airport in order to maintain search and rescue capability. Coast Guard 17th District command center watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon and directed the launch of the helicopter crew. The helicopter crew, deployed with the "Munro" on a Bering Sea patrol, departed Dutch Harbor, safely hoisted the 37-year-old man, and transported him to Iliuliuk Family and Health Services in Dutch Harbor. Weather on scene was reported as 23 mph winds and 6-foot seas.

NORTHERN VICTOR 7208431

Thu Jan 13 10:04:34 CET 2011 Timsen

Coast Guard stopped the search for the man who went overboard from the "Northern Victor" in the waters south of Prince Rupert when no body was found by mid-Jan 12. After searching the freezing waters of the Fraser Reach Inlet for 18 hours with a ship, two fast boats and a helicopter, the Coast Guard believes there is no chance the man is still alive. The man went overboard sometime on Jan 11, and the search for him went on through the night and into next afternoon before being called off. According to Haddock, it is believed that the missing man may have jumped from his ship in a possible suicide.
