Ferry crew rescued two fishermen

Wed Apr 13 11:51:03 CEST 2022 Timsen

Two men were rescued in the early morning of April 10, 2022, by the passin 'Northern Adventure', which was en route from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, after their fishing boat caught fire in Arthur Passage near Prince Rupert at around 5 a.m. The two fishermen had launched a flare. The B.C. Ferries crew dropped a rescue zodiac and two members motored out to the burning boat and were able to rescue the two men. They were brought onto to the ship, and the crew called over the speaker for the assistance of anyone with medical training. Two doctors and a nurse were able to respond. The Canadian Coast Guard launched its Prince Rupert lifeboat which recovered the two men from the ferry and brought them into Prince Rupert. Two paramedic units met the Coastguard at the South Cow Bay Dock and both men were transported to the hospital. Ferry rescues 22 guests after floating fishing lodge looses moorings

Mon Sep 19 09:40:29 CEST 2011 arnekiel

B.C. Ferries vessel Northern Adventure was called upon Sunday morning to help with a rescue at a floating fishing lodge on Princess Royal Island, along the mid-coast, Vancouver Sun reports. The ferry, en route from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, was contacted around 10 a.m. by Victoria’s Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre after the King Pacific Lodge reported losing all of its moorings save for one anchor in winds exceeding 50 knots. The Northern Adventure was just 35 minutes north of the lodge at the time, while the nearest coast guard vessel was four hours away. The ferry diverted from its route and arrived at the scene about 11 a.m., taking on 22 lodge guests via boats from the lodge. Employees of the lodge either remained at the site or travelled by boat to nearby Hartley Bay. The Northern Adventure resumed sailing to Prince Rupert at 1:30 p.m. and was scheduled for a 6 p.m. arrival. http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Ferry+rescues+guests+after+floating+fishing+lodge+Princess+Royal+Island/5421950/story.html
