Cement carrier under repair in Pargas after engine overheating
After the "Nordanvik" was towed to the cement the port of Pargas by the tugs "Ajax" and "Iso-Pukki" on Apr 5, repairs were started at the main engine which had failed due to overheating. The Maritime Incident Response Group had secured the safety of the ship before. However, the plan that the "Nordanvik" after one round trip to Poland would start distributing cement from Finncements facility in Pargas in Finnish coastal towns had to be postponed. There was no timetable yet, but cement traffic continued normally with the cement carrier "Envik" which should have been replaced by the "Nordanvik", until further notice.
