200 kilos of cocaine found in cooling nozzle
In the morning of Aug 5, 2022, 200 kilos of cocaine were seized on the 'Nord Mamore' which was making a bunker stop to refuel in Tenerife. During the inspection of the cargo and the rest of the common areas of the vessel, a total of eight bundles were detected outside the hull by personnel from the Civil Guard's underwater activities team (GEAS) The drug was attached to the inside of one of the cooling nozzles of the ship, which was enroute from Paranagua to Lisbon with a cargo of corn. The Customs Surveillance Service of the Tax Agency in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Civil Guard have intervened as the result of one of the anchoring visits carried out by the Fiscal Protection and Borders Section of the Civil Guard of the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in conjunction with the Combined Customs Surveillance Unit of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
