Tug suffered blackout during delivery voyage
The "Noordzee", 294 gt, suffered a complete power loss on Feb 20, 2016, during the last part of the delivery voyage from Romania to Den Helder. The power failure occured at the height of Callantsoog off the Petten coast. The ship had to be taken in tow by another naval tug, the "Hunze". Also the KNRM boat "Joke Dijkstra" attended the arrival of the hybrid tug. She was pulled towards Den Helder where she finally berthed with some delay regarding the initial schedule at 2.15 p.m. After some time the crew had managed to trestore the power so the ship enter the port with own power. During this week the Damen Shipyard was working to resolve all faults that have been discovered during the delivery voyage from Constanta which had started on Dec 7. New Navy Hybrid tug A 871 NOORDZEE arrives at Den Helder
The Damen Shipyard Group built ASD 2810 Hybrid tug A 871 NOORDZEE arrived from the builders Damen Shipyards Galati after a succesful trip at the Dutch naval base Den Helder, the brandnew tug was met by the Dutch Navy tug A 876 HUNZE offshore and escorted into the naval base.
