Swan sailing again

After workers of the Muetzelfeldt Yard in Cuxhaven carried out temporary repairs to the damaged bow of the "Fionia Swan", the ship was allowed to sail from the Sea Bath Pier in the morning of Sep 9 at 2.25 a.m. and was heading via Kiel Canal for Poti, ETA Sep 12. Tanker slammed into quay

Coming from Rotterdam, the "Fionia Swan" allided with the Steubenhöft in Cuxhaven in the morning of Sep 7, 2011, at 4 a.m. due to a failure of the main engine. An attempt to stop the ship by anchor failed. The port side bow of the ship which was underway to Finland was severely damaged when pushing against the quay and a gash of two metres length was torn into the hull. No injuries, no spills reported.
