Bulkcarrier grounded on Mississippi
The "Nireas" ran aground at Mile 171,5, near Point Houmas on the Mississippi on Dec 23, 2018. Consequently, the Coast Guard had put certain VTS Measures into effect from MM-171.0 to MM-172.0, to protect persons and property from the hazards of the grounded ship. Subsequently, the vessel was refloated and the VTS Measures that were in effect were rescinded. The ship continued sailing south-bound to Sete with an ETA as of Jan 10, 2019.
