Polish-built ship arrives in Vietnam

Thu Jan 28 10:34:44 CET 2016 arnekiel

A full-rigged ship that the Vietnam Navy contracted to buy from Poland arrived at a port in Nha Trang on Wednesday, VnExpress reported. A hand-over ceremony was held at the port where the Vietnam Naval Academy is located. The training vessel is named after Le Quy Don (1726-1784), a famous Vietnamese poet, philosopher and encyclopedist in the 18th century. The ship was built by Polish shipyard Marine Projects Ltd. under a contract signed with the Vietnam Naval Academy in July 2014. The contract includes the training of the Vietnamese crew. The ship was launched last June. It arrived in Vietnam after a 125-day voyage with a mixed Polish and Vietnamese crew onboard. It will be officially commissioned at the academy after a flag ceremony in March. http://www.thanhniennews.com/politics/polishbuilt-ship-arrives-in-vietnam-58728.html
