Bulkcarrier shifted to outer anchorage
The "New Legacy" was shifted to outer anchorage on Oct 12, waiting for owner's instruction and release order after it completed the offloading operation, today. The vessel was arrested following a suit filed by the owner of the lighter vessel sunk by the bulkcarrier.
Four missing after lighter accident off Chittagong
The lighter ship "Char Samail" sank after a collision with the "New Legacy" while unmooring from the bulkcarrier "Densa Tiger" on Chittagong Anchorage on Sep 29, 2018. Of the 13 crew members, nine were rescue and four went missing. The lighter had loaded 400 tons of scrap from the bulkcarrier. There were two more lighters moored alongside. Initially, the "New Legacy" was struck by the "Densa Tiger" which then hit the "Char Samail". Both involved bulkcarriers were damaged.
