Barge allided with bridge

The "Nero", 3567 ts (EU-No.: 02326738), allided with a pillar of the Lillo Bridge in the canal dock of Berendrecht on May 8, 2018. 15 containers fell into the water. Tugs recovered a dozen of them and pulled them to the shore where a crane lifted them out of the water. Three more empy boxes, however, sank so that the dock had to be closed for ship traffic. The fire brigade located the containers and a salvage plan was developed. The bridge was damaged, but remained structural intact. The train traffic was timewise stopped. The barge suffered slight damage.
