Ferry unable to raise anchor
The Port Authority of Siteia was informed that the 'Naxos Jet' was unable to raise its anchor in the morning of Aug 11, 2023, upon the. scheduled departure from Siteia bound for the ports of Kasos, Karpathos, Chalkis, and Rhodes, carrying 182 passengers and 40 vehicles. Due to the anchor issue, the Port Authority of Siteia prohibited the vessel's departure. Subsequently, the ship-owning company arranged for the passengers to be transported to their destinations using another vessel. The 'Naxos Jet' finally sailed from Siteia on Aug 12 at 5.30 p.m.
Cable damage in Iraklion
The captain of the 'Naxos Jet' informed the Port Authority of Iraklion , that it while preparing to depart for its service to Thira, it suffered a damage to the ramp in the morning of Dec 18, 2020. The vessel with 20 passengers and eight vehicles on board underwent an inspection by the Iraklion ship inspection team. which found that the starboard cable had become detached from its cable roller. Following repair works, and after the presentation of a class maintenance certificate, the vessel was cleared to sail for its service to the port of Thira.
Engine damage off Makronisou
In the afternoon of Oct 3, 2019, the 'Naxos Jet', which had sailed from Piraeus, suffered a damage of one of the four main engines 1.2 miles east of the south end of N. Makronisou. The ferry continued with its three remaining main engines to the Chalkis shipyard, where it was banned from sailing by the Central Port Authority of Chalkis until the damage was repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness issued by the monitoring classification society.
