Two workers after falling into manhole section

The bodies of two workers who lost their lives in an incident on Aug 22, 2024 on the 'Navis 2', waiting in the Gulf in Bandırma district of Balıkesir, have been removed from the ship, which was waiting to dock at the port in the Bandırma Bay No. 1 anchorage area. Konstantin Martynov (46) and Dmitry Mochalov (52) lost their lives due to suspected gas poisoning in the hold of the ship. Following the incident, the body of Konstantin Martynov was removed from the ship, which was docked at Bandırma Çelebi Port after the cargo discharge was brought forward upon the ship's request. After the cargo in the hold was unloaded, the teams that reached Dmitry Mochalov's body early in the morning sent both bodies to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. Dmitriy Mochalov and Konstantin Martynov fell into the manhole section between holds 3 and 2 and died. The autopsy results are awaited. There was no clear result yet that they were poisoned. The forensic medicine report was awaited and the examinations continud, considering the possibility of poisoning.
