Stowaways removed from rudder compartment

The Nigerian Navy, NNS Beecarrests patrol team on Nov 3, 2023, apprehended eight Nigerian stowaways trying to exit the country aboard the 'Natal'. The stowaways were found inside the rudder compartment, where they had concealed themselves. The Commander, NNS Beecroft, Kolawale Oguntuga, while handing the suspects over to the Nigerian Immigration Service at the Naval Base Apapa, Lagos on Nov 6, 2023, said the arrest was carried out following reliable intelligence. He identified the stowaways as the 22-year-old Jerry Benjamin; Ben Tony, 19; 16-year-old Victory Ekemele; and Ike Destiny, 17, all from Delta State; the 25-year-old Ebuka Solomon, and the 26-year-old Christian Eze, both from Enugu State; and the 25-year-old James Vincent from Edo State and David Abamiyo, 27, from Ondo State.
