Two delayed RAL ships put of for sale by Polish builders

Fri Oct 11 09:12:09 CEST 2019 Timsen

The Seaboats brokerage, based on the Isle of Man, is now trying to sell two ice-class multipurpose vessels that RAL contracted in 2013 at the Polish yard Remontowa, but since refused to take delivery because they were heavily delayed, so that the yard now put the ships up for sale The two sister ships "Agnethe Arctica" and "Jonathan Arctica" are on sale for 12 million Euros each. The "Agnethe Arctica" is ready for delivery one month after a sale, while it takes three months to complete the "Jonathan Arctica." The British brokerage house CW Kellock started selling the two ships six months ago, but found no interests. The cancellation of the vessels led to a long legal and financial dispute between the Royal Arctic Line and the Polish shipyard whihc has now been resolved without the details being disclosed. The two 74-meter container vessels wer ebuilt for DNV ice class PC5.
