Detained in Shellhaven for 10 days

Wed Sep 21 09:27:02 CEST 2011 arnekiel

The vessel was detained in Shellhaven for 10 days because the fast rescue boat was deflated and the magnetic compass light was not working. Other deficiencies identified included: there were entries missing in the oil record book; the gangway net was torn; the wheelhouse was badly corroded; various charts and publications were out of date; some of the toilets had tiles missing and light switches were loose and taped and some light covers damaged. The above deficiencies were objective evidence of a serious failure or lack of effectiveness of the ISM code. The vessel was released from detention on 14/08/2011
