Allision in Kea
The Port Authority of Kea was informed in the evening of June 28, 2022, that the 'Namasis' which was anchored and sideways tied at the breakwater of the port of Korissia, during the maneuvering process during its departure for the port of Sitia, Crete allided with its port side with the berthed ferry 'Macedon' (IMO: 7205219) due to a north northeast wind of 5-6 Beaufort. Officials of the Port Authority rushed to the scene where they found that the accident had caused dents and abrasions five to six meters above the water line of the 'Macedon', while aboard the 'Nemesis' the rails in the middle deck were crooked. The collision did not cause injuries, no marine pollution was observed. The Port Department of Kea of the Central Port Authority of Lavrio, Chalkida, which conducted the preliminary investigation, banned the ships from sailing until the presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness and a certificate of class maintenance by the monitoring classification societies. As of June 29, the 'Nemesis' was anchored in pos. 37° 39.61' N 024° 19.05' E in the port basin, before leaving, headed to Altsi with an ETA as of June 30. The 'Macedon' left Kea en route to Lavrio at 8 p.m.
Cargo ship grounded on avalanche in Corinth Canal
The Corinth Canal that separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland had to be closed after being hit by a landslide in the morning of Nov 13, 2020. The avalanche reduced the draft in the canal, with the result that the 'Nemesis', enroute from Thira to Drepano, ran aground and blocked the fairway. Engine malfunction in Theassaloniki
The 'Nemesis' suffered a main engine malfunction at the Traffic Separation Scheme off port Thessaloniki on Feb 11, 2020, at 09.50 a.m. The port authorities of Thessaloniki detained the vessel which was bound to Volos as next port until completion of repairs and the renewal of the relevant certifications.
