Repairs to be carried out in Perama
The 'Hartura' berthed at the repair yard at Perama on Nov 24. A detailed damage survey was to be carried out by a Class surveyor from Rina in order to ascertain the extent of damage and method of repairs. The vessel had been taken in tow by the tug 'Apollon' on Nov 22. The 'Hartura' sailed again from Perama on Dec 3 at 8.30 a.m. and, after a brief stop at Ampelaika at 8.45 a.m., left towards Antikyra with an ETA as of Dec 4, 8 p.m.
Disabled freighter under tow to Piraeus
The 'Hartura' suffered an engine failure on Nov 21, 2019, in the Aegean Sea, while en route from Ravenna to Gemlik. The tug 'Apollon' (IMO: 7431806) was contracted for the salvage. The casualty was taken in tow on Nov 22 towards Piraeus. On Nov 23 at 6.20 a.m. the casualty dropped anchor on the port's roads in position 37° 54.27' N 023° 33.72' E. The tug remained on standby at the vessel.
Freighter's anchor damaged purse seiners
On Oct 22, 2018, coming from Barcelona and maneuvering to its berth at Cariño, the "Hartura" damaged two purse seiners and several boats with its anchor. The ship entered port with slow speed, and to turn it it needed a minimum of thrust. The pilot decided to increase speed from 3 to 4 knots to turn it to the jetty. As it took time to react and space was scarce, the anchor was pulled out to stop and turn it. While the manoever worked, the anchor got entangled with the moorings of the fishing boats. There was no major damage, structural damage, and in a couple of days it should be resolved in accordances with the insurer. José Vicente González Deus, owner of the two affected purse seiners, was waiting for an expert to arrive to assess the damage.
