Divers to inspect grounded ferry
Divers will do an underwater inspection to check on the integrity of the hull of the 'Filipinas Cebu'. The master stated that the strong current made it difficult for them to manoeuvre, which caused the ferry to run aground off Loculan Shoal. The vessel's engine remained working, but the Philippine Coast Guard was still waiting for a plan on how the salvage operations would be conducted before the vessel can be refloated. The PCG was investigating the incident, meanwhile, the Maritime Industry Authority will also inspect the vessel.

Investigations and surveys underway
The Cokaliong Shipping Lines Incorporated tasked a salvor to conduct an underwater inspection of the hull of the 'Filipinas Cebu'. The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) would lift the suspension order once proven that the vessel is seaworthy. The shipping company also has to comply with the guidelines before the Philippine Coast Guards allows the vessel to sail. 37 crew members have been left onboard for further investigations by the MARINA. The Maritime Industry Authority had suspended passenger ship safety certificate after the grounding.
