MSC Vigo adrift in North Sea storm
In the night of Jan 1, 2019, the "MSC Vigo" which had sailed from Bremerhaven on Dec 31 at 7.45 a.m. was in trouble after it started dragging off the New Weser-North Anchorage in the Northsea and drifted southwards after losing an anchor on Jan 2. The German Central Command for Maritime Emergencies responded. In the run of the day the situation could be brought under control, and the ship resumed its voyage to Felixstowe where it had initially been expected to arrive already in the morning of Jan 2. The vessel finally arrived at the Trinity Terminal in the port of Felixstowe on Jan 3 at 3.55 a.m.
