The Houthi terrorists announced over the weekend of July 13/14, 2024, that they had targeted the 'MSC Unific VI'. While the vessel was in the Gulf of Aden when they launched missiles towards the ship. The ship had reported departing Djibouti on July 11 en route to Colomboi.

Houthi terrorists on July 1, 2024, claimed to have targeted the 'MSC Unific V' in the Arabian Sea. A second operation targeted the 'Delonix' in the Red Sea, marking the second attack in that region within a week. Yemen's Houthi group announced that they had conducted four military operations, targeting ships in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Mediterranean Sea, and Indian Ocean. The spokesperson for the group, the operations were aimed at vessels linked to the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel.
