Search for missing engineer suspended
The Coast Guard suspended its search for a 30-year-old man off the coast of Bermuda May 26 afternoon. Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules aircraft crews from Elizabeth City flew approximately 2806 square miles during the search. The man was reported missing 184 miles southwest of the island from the "MSC Tuscany", at 5:27 p.m., May 25.
Search for missing engineer continued
Three ships and the US Coast Guard on May 26 continued searching for the chief engineer of the "MSC Tuscany" who fell overboard 140 miles southwest of Bermuda. The man was last seen aboard the ship at lunch time yesterday in his orange boiler suit; a search of the vessel revealed he was nowhere to be seen at 6 p.m. The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre launched a search in conjunction with the US Coast Guard.A second Coast Guard C-130 aircraft was due to arrive on scene on May 26 at 8.30 a.m. The "MSC Tuscany", "Stena Polaris", "Akritas" and "Overseas Ariadmar" were also searching the area. The ship was heading from Montreal to the Dominican Republic when the accident happened.
