Lube oil problem off British coast
The "MSC Sveva" suffered a lube oil problem on Dec 20, 2018, en route from Coryton to Le Havre when being about to leave the London VTS area. The vessel was anchored in position 51 38 10 N, 001 22 15 E at 11.30 p.m.for repair works. After the crew completed repairs, the ship resumed its voyage and berthed at the Terminal Porte Oceane in Le Havre on Dec 21 at 5.45 p.m.
MSC Christens New Oscar-Class Giant in Le Havre
wiss-based container carrier Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) christened the latest in a series of twenty 19,224 TEU container ships, MSC Sveva, during a ceremony held at the Port of Le Havre, France, on July 20. The 199,272 dwt MSC SVEVA belongs to an Oscar-class of container ships which feature a length of 395.45 meters and a width of 59.08 meters, and are one of the largest sea-going vessels in the world. MSC SVEVA will be deployed on the Asia – Europe route, according to Haropa Ports, the operator of the Port of Le Havre.
