Oil spill during bunkering
About 0,25 tons of fuel have spilt in the Sines' Container Terminal XXI, close to Lisbon on April 4, 2019, at 11.30 p.m. during bunkering from the Spanish tanker "Bahia Tres" (IMO: 9428671). After the spill, oil barriers were laid oout for containment and collection of spilt fuel in order to minimise the impact of the incident on port activity. Cleaning works in the pier area were underway.
Main engine failure
The "MSC Sandra" got disabled due to a main engine failure in position 46 20 N, 072 31.96 7W, while transiting at the pilot boarding area of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, on Apr 24 at 7.38 p.m. On Apr 25 at 3.10 p.m. it arrived at Montreal.
Allision in Bremerhaven
In the morning of Sep 17, 2017, at 9.15 a.m. the "MSC Sandra" allided with the quay of the MSC Terminal in Bremerhaven upon her departure. The ship suffered damage to its port side stern, which was dented and breached above the waterline, and was detained at the MSC Gate. Fog may have contributed to the accident. The vessel had arrived from Antwerp on Sep 16. It finally left the port at 7.15 p.m., bound to Le Havre.
