Maersk mints extension
Diana Containerships of Greece has signed off on an extension that will allow the world’s largest carrier to utilize one of its panamaxes for another year Diana oversees a fleet of ten containerships. The stable includes the SAGITTA, which Maersk first fixed for $16,000 a day back in 2010. In a statement the owner said it agreed to charter the 3,426-teu SAGITTA (built 2010) to AP Moller Maersk for a further ten to 12 months.Diana told investors that this latest extension carries a gross rate of $7,825 per day, minus a 1.25% commission paid to third parties that were not identified by name.
Diana Containerships Announces Direct Continuation of Time Charter Agreement With A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S
Diana Containerships Inc., Friday Dec. 20 announced that it has agreed to extend the present time charter contract with A.P. Moeller-Maersk A/S, for its Panamax container vessel, the m/v SAGITTA for a period of up to minimum September 15, 2014 to maximum November 30, 2014 at a gross charter rate of US$7,400 per day, minus a 1.25% commission paid to third parties. The new charter period will commence on January 29, 2014. This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$1.6 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the charter.
