Houthi missile caused fire
The 'MSC Palatium III' was hit by a missile on Dec 15, 2023, at around 10.40 a.m. UTC 27 nautical miles westsouthwest of Mukha, Yemen, in the southern Red Sea, while sailing in southern direction from Mombasa to Jeddah. There was fire on board after the explosion, with the crew fighting it. On Dec 16 the ship was anchored off Djibouti with the fire having put out and the crew being safe.
Attack on Emirates Zanbezi defended
The "Emirates Zanbezi" was fired upon by six pirates in one skiff on Oct 17, 2011, at 2100 UTC while underway in position 06:26S – 040:06E, approximately 35 nm east of Zanzibar Island, Tanzania. The pirates were armed with guns and an RPG. The Master raised the alarm, took evasive maneuvers, and all crew except bridge team mustered in the citadel. Onboard armed security team activated deck lights and fire hoses and returned weapons fire, resulting in the pirates moving away.
