Debris found five years after shipwreck
Stormy weather could have washed debris from the "MSC Napoli" aground at local beaches. Items that resemble cargo from the ship have been spotted nearly five years after the vessel was beached off Branscombe. The Sidmouth Lifeboat in the afternoon of Oct 25, 2011, towed ashore what was believed to be part of a container. Crew from the independent service were tasked to a stretch of coast between Beer Head and Branscombe at around 3 p.m. Beach goers have reported seeing black plastic car part-like items on Branscombe beach earlier this week.
