Ocean Yield ASA takes delivery of 19,500 TEU container vessel MSC Mirjam
Norwegian ship owner Ocean Yield ASA has taken delivery of the 19,500 TEU container vessel MSC Mirjam from South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries. After being delivered from the shipyard on Nov. 16, the vessel commenced a 15-year bareboat charter with Switzerland-based container line Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). Featuring 202,000 dwt, the Ultra Large Container Vessel (ULCV) was hired for USD 46,250 per day, according to data provided by VesselsValue. The boxship, which is the fourth in a series of six mega container vessels to be delivered to the company, is owned by Ocean Yield in a joint venture with Quantum Pacific Shipping, a part of Quantum Pacific Group.
