Vessel disabled due to main engine exhaust valve issues
Fully cellular containership Saxonia (35824 gt, built 2003), under the conduct of a pilot, reported being disabled due to main engine exhaust valve issues while departing Fraser Surrey dock in Vancouvers, British Columbia in position lat 49 11.377N, long 122 54.713W, at 2015 hrs, PDT, Sep 29, 2018. This was followed by a total electrical failure caused by a breakdown of the No. 3 auxiliary engine. The vessel was re-positioned alongside the berth with the assistance of tugs. It left port again on Sep 30 at 8.15 p.m., headed to Seattle.
