Barge threatened to sink
In the morning of May 17, 2015, the "Freiheit 1", 1349 ts (EU-No.: 05401260), started to list in the industrial port of Dörpen and was threatened to sink. The fire rescue Dörpen was alerted at 7.30 a.m. and attended with five engines and 32 Forces. The ship was heavily listing to starboard at that time due to a large amount of water in the ballast tanks which were complicated to access. The ship was loaded with cellulose products for the paper factory UPM Nordland which had remained dry so far. It should be unloaded on May 18. Barges still in port after collision
While the Dutch flagged, self propelled barge "Zwaantje", 1503 ts (EU-No.: 02301140) remains berthed in Riesebeck after its collison with the "Freiheit 1", 1349 ts (EU-No.: 05401260), on Feb 3 on the Hunte with one half of the broken anchor of the "Freiheit 1" still stuck in the bulwark and bollards of the "Zwaantje", the "Freiheit 1" remains in Oldenburg with a dent of 6x2 metres in the bow. The ship had loaded 60 tons of cargo and 300 tons ballast.
Collision on the Hunte
On Feb 3 the unloaded "Freiheit 1" was in collision with the Dutch "Zwaantje" enroute Oldenburg to the Coast Canal on the Hunte. The "Zwaantje" was approaching from the opposite direction, and as the Polish "Martini" cut off the curve there was no space left, and the anchor of the "Freiheit 1" got stuck in the bow of the "Zwaantje". The damage was some 10000 Euro. Photos: http://www.binnenschifferforum.de/forum/showthread.php?39937-Schiffe-stoßen-in-Kurve-zusammen&p=159624#post159624
