Disabled tanker docked at A Coruña
The "MRC Hatice Ana" suffered an engine breakdown with 2,670 tons of paraffin on board off A Coruña on May 25, 2018, enroute from Agioi Theodoroi and bound to Hamburg, ETA June 2. The tanker was adrift for some time, resumed moving on May 27 at 6-7 knots speed. On May 29 the captain asked the Spanish authorities for shelter, and was granted permission to call at A Coruña where it was docked at the Centenario Sur wharf on May 30 at 4.45 a.m. Spare parts for the repair arrived in the morning of May 30, and the ship left port at 6.50 p.m., ETA Hamburg June 2. Chemical tanker MRC Hatice Ana collided with trawler in Marmara sea on Oct 4 2011 in the morning hours, near Istambul. 6 fishermen were seriously injured and taken to hospital. Tanker, presumably, didn’t suffer any damages and continued voyage.
