Collision on the Northsea
The German trawler "Juri van den Berg - NG 1", 116 gt (IMO: 7904803), was in collision with the "Lantau Arrow" on the Northsea in the night of Jan 26, 2019. The KNRM was deployed to the scene with the lifeboat "Koos van Messel" from IJmuiden. The container ship could continue on its way from Rotterdam, where it had sailed on Feb 26 at 10 p.m. to Gothenburg. It arrived at the Skandia Container Terminal in Gothenburg on Feb 28 at 5.20 a.m. It was decided to get the fishing vessel to IJmuiden to inspect the damage at port side. The ship proceeded with own power but escorted by the KNRM-boat and was safely berthed in port on Feb 27 at 4 a.m. The cause of the collision was yet unknown.
