11 missing after collision

The "Montelaura" was in collision with the local fishing vessel 'Al Akhawayan' in the night of Sep 26, 2019, about 35 miles west of Dakhla, while en route from Caraminal to Gabon. The fishing vessel sank, and of the 16 crew members on board five were rescueda and 11 went missing. An SAR operation was under way. The reefer morred at Dakhla anchorage on Sep 27 at 9.15 a.m.

Reeder saved crew of yacht

The cooperation between the MRCCs in Spain, Sweden and Cape Verde allowed the rescue of the two crew members of the Swedish sailign yacht "Tina Princess". The boat had suffered a water ingress in the area of responsibility of Cape Verdeand activated the radio beacon. The local MRCC contacted the "Montelaura", coming from Mindelo, which was in the area and diverted towards the position. The crew rescued the distressed saiilors and took them to Ribeira with an ETA as of April 25.
