Tanker grounded on the Rhine
On Nov 17, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. the 'Moinos', 2563 ts (EU-No.: 04803510), enroute from Karlsruhe to Birsfelden, Swiss, loaded with 2.000 tons gas oil, veered off the fairway on the Rhine at the Murg conjunction due to a navigational mistake. The stern allided with a number of fairway buoys in the estuary ofthe Murg. One of the mooring chains got entangled in the propeller, so that the ship was completely disabled and ran aground. A ship couple which was passing by managed to pull the barge off again and took it to the lock Iffezheim where it was safely berthed. On Nov 18 a diver started to survey the hull and propulsion unit there.
Fire on the Rhine
The "Moinos", 2563 ts (EU-No.: 04803510), caught fire on the Rhine at Ludwigshafen in the evening of Nov 15, 2011. The ship was berthed in the Old Rhine Port Mundenheim when the fire broke out in the ship's electronic. The fire which led to development of dense smoke could soon be extinguished by the automatic fire suppression system and was already out when the fire rescue arrived. The crew of the ship which was bound from Rotterdam to Wesseling evacuated by boat. The engine room was ventilated by the fire rescue.
