Oil booms laid out at grounding site
The area around the ship'Vamos'which ran aground in the İnebolu district of Kastamonu, was barred off with aborbant booms to prevent oil and fuel leakages on Nov 28, after the storm subsided. No leaks were reported. The remaining fuel was removed from the vessel onto shore based trucks. Divers carried out underwater inspections along with damage surveys. Attended surveyor panels carried out inspections of the steel structure. Ship grounded in İnebolu
The 'Vamos' with 11 crew members on board, ran aground due to a storm in the İnebolu district of Kastamonu, on Nov 27, 2023. The ship was unloading its cargo of fertilizer at the pier in İnebolu district of Kastamonu, when the ropes broke and it went adrif due to a severe storm and ran aground in the Filli Köşk area of the İnebolu Port. The AFAD, Coast guard and fire brigade were dispatched and rescued the crew, two of whom were Turkish. The ship was stuck in pos. 41° 58.50' N 033° 46.64' E. Engine failure at the Dardanelles
The "Naz 1" suffered an engine failure, veered off course and went adrift in the Dardanelles approaches in the Marmara sea on March 7, 2019, at 4.40 p.m. The ship was en route from Piraeus to Burgas. All ships in the area were alerted. The crew managed to cope with the problem without assistance, and within about an hour the engine was restarted, and the ship proceeded to Tuzla anchorage where it moored on March 8 at 6 a.m. in pos. 40° 52.12' N 029° 11.07' E.
