Deadly work accident in Bremerhaven
Om June 25, 2022, at 9.30 a.m. a port worker in Bremerhaven was killed in an accident aboard the 'ML Freyja' which was being loaded in the East Port. The 30 year old man was crushed between a moving excavator and other cargo and seriously injured. He was medically treated on scene and then taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on June 26. The water police Bremen was investigating the accident. The ship left the port again on June 26 at 8.30 p.m., next headed to Harwich.
Allision in Cuxhaven
The "ML Freyja" allided with the berthed Danish ferry "Stena Foreteller" (IMO: 9214666)upon its departure from Cuxhaven in the night of April 10, 2019. The ship also damaged several fender plates. Then the bridge dock hit the gantry crane of the Cuxport-Terminal. After surveys and investigations were completed, the ship was released and left the port at 6.30 a.m. on April 11, bound to Paldiski, ETA April 14. Already at 3.30 a.m. the "Stena Foreteller" had left the port again, bound to Immingham, ETA 8 p.m.
ML FREYJA to start sailing for Mann Lines on 27 December
The Visentini-built and Visemar-owned ML FREYJA, which has been on subcharter to SOL since her delivery in June, is due to be handed back to Mann Lines, her long-term charterers.
