Disabled ferry anchored in Dublin bight
On Dec 12, 2019, the 'Mistral' had to drop anchor in the Dublin bight off Dún Loghaire due to technical problems. The ship was enroute from Liverpool to Dublin. On Dec 15 the ship reamined moored in position 53° 18.96' N 006° 5.74' W, but she was to be towed into the port as the trouble could not be resolved yet by the crew. Due to bad weather this was impossible yet. On board were besides the crew five truck drivers and a cargo of 80 trucks. was finallly able to enter the port on Dec 15 at 2.40 p.m. The ship left the port again on Dec 16 at 9 a.m. bound to Zeebrugge with an ETA as of Dec 18.
Chemical leak in Zeebrugge
A chemical leak aboard the "Mistral" was reported to the emergency services at Zeebrugge on Oct 29, 2018, at 5 p.m. The ship had arrived from Teesport at 8.45 a.m. All cargo operations were stopped, as it was not clear yet what kind of chemicals had leaked, nor was the volume known. The fire department was on site with special equipment and material. The spilled chemical was stored in a tank container.
