MISSISSIPPI

Mon Aug 20 09:23:22 CEST 2012 arnekiel

The MV Mississippi, the nation's largest diesel towboat, made a stop in Chester this weekend, August 18-19, 2012. The vessel is taking river level measurements along the Mississippi. On Saturday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers opened the ship to the public. The use of the MV Mississippi makes it unique; ninety percent of the time it's used as a towboat, while ten percent of the time it's a passenger vessel, making it difficult to find a qualified pilot. http://www.wsiltv.com/news/local/MV-MIssissippi-Stops-In-Chester-166654426.html
