Fishing vessel burnt out during dismantling works

A fire broke out on the 'Mirgorod' during dismantling work at the ship repair plant of JSC in the Murmansk region on Feb 5, 2024. During the gas cutting process, employees of Arktikvtormet LLC observed smoke coming from the lower deck of the vessel's hull. The alerted fire and rescue units immediately went to the scene. They decided not to use fire-fighting equipment in order to avoid a flooding of the remaining part of the vessel. The vessel was allowed to burn out under the control of the firefighters.

Fire during dismantling work

In the evening of Sep 21, 2023, a fire broke out aboard the 'Mirgorod' while it was being dismantledat the ship repair plant in Polyarny, Murmansk region, while mployees of Arktikvtormet LLC were performing gas-cutting work in the engine room. There was no threat to personnel and there was no threat of fire spreading. Five fire appliances were dispatched to extinguish the fire. At 10.05 p.m. Moscow time, the fire was extinguished.
