Russia fired missiles on drifting tanker

In the moring of July 7, 2022, the 'Millennial Spirit' was fired upon by a Russian Su-30 aircraft with two Kh-31 missiles at the Odessa region. One hit the tanker, which has been drifting in Ukrainian territorial waters without a crew, and with the remains of diesel fuel on board. The second missile self-destructed over the sea. Russian forces had fired at the same tanker from warships in the Black Sea already in February. It was likely that the tanker was burning the remains of its cargo. At the time of the first strike on the tanker, there were more than 500 tons of diesel fuel on board. The tanker has been drifting in the Black Sea for four months now, and was regarded as an "environmental time bomb".

Terrorism against seafarers - tanker hit by missile near Odessa, two seriously injured crew members

The 'Millennial Spirit' with a Russian crew on board was hit by two missiles about 12 nautical miles south of the port of Odessa near Pivdenny, injuring two people in Feb 24, 2022. One missile hit the superstructure, and another the midbody. It was unclear who had fired at the vessel. The two seriously injured seafarers were taken to hospital. The ship, loaded with 600 tons gasoline, went ablaze. Repairs of grounding damage completed

The "Freyja", having been drydocked at the Orskov Yard in Frederikshavn for repairs of the grounding damage since July 10, left the yard again on July 24 at 4.15 p.m., next being bound to Amsterdam, ETA July 27, 10 p.m.
